People urged to ‘get boosted before the bells’

‘GET boosted before the bells’ is the message – as extra capacity and more drop-in vaccination clinics are lined up in the region before New Year’s Day.

Anyone aged over 18 who is now at least 12 weeks from their second jag is strongly encouraged to take up the opportunity to receive a booster jag, which is now known to play a key role in defending against the Omicron variant.

People are encouraged to book their slot through the national portal, or alternatively attend drop-in clinics taking place as follows:

Mountainhall Treatment Centre in Dumfries – Friday December 31, 9 am to 3 pm

Waverley Medical Centre in Stranraer – Friday December 31, 9 am to 1 pm

Mountainhall Treatment Centre in Dumfries – Thursday January 6, 5 pm to 8 pm

Mountainhall Treatment Centre in Dumfries – Tuesday January 11, 5 pm to 8 pm

Sanquhar Community Hall in Sanquhar – Wednesday January 12, 4 pm to 7 pm

Book your booster now using the national portal https://vacs.nhs.scot/csp, or by calling the free number 0800 030 8013. The local helpline can handle a limited number of enquiries for anyone experiencing problems with the national system – calling 01387 403090 or emailing dg.covidenequiries@nhs.scot
