Community Pharmacy

Dumfries and Galloway is one of the smaller Health Boards which brings both challenges and rewards.  We have both urban and rural Community Pharmacies,  and there are opportunities to expand your career into many other aspects of Pharmaceutical care.

As each Community Pharmacy has its own individual feel, there is scope to “put your own mark” on where you are working and lead your team to improve the lives of our patients.

With many of the teams comprising long term staff with vast experience of the changing Pharmacy landscape, you will have the unique opportunity to be a valued part of the Community Health Team.  Close links to GP practices, and easy access to other Health Teams, the interaction between each part of the Health Service means that you can aid our patients in a unique way.
‘”I really enjoy working in a rural community pharmacy. It is lovely that we get to know our patients so well. They trust us and often ask us for advice before contacting their GP surgery. We offer a very personal service tailored to our patient’s needs. I really enjoy working as part of a team and my career has progressed well from starting as a counter assistant to now being an Accuracy Checking Technician.”
