Hospital Visiting

Virtual Visiting

Dumfries and Galloway moved to Level 1 on the National COVID Protection Framework on Saturday, 5th of June. This has meant changes to arrangements for people visiting inpatients.

Since Saturday 5th June, two named visitors for each inpatient in Dumfries and Galloway has been allowed. Both visitors are allowed to visit an inpatient at the same time if they are able to be suitably physically distanced from each other. Please note – the physical distancing rule does not apply if the visitors are from the same household.

Other restrictions on visiting people in hospital continue to apply.

People are not allowed to visit inpatients if they have tested positive for COVID or have been asked to quarantine.

There are continuing requirements around the wearing of face masks and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), with directions provided upon arrival at the various facilities.

The way in which you can book to visit an in-patient will vary depending on the facility that they are in.  The information outlined below shows how you can make arrangements with the different locations.  Please note that some facilities will have to allocate time slots to allow all patients to have the opportunity to have their visitors.  This is due to the facility size and ensuring that social distancing can continue to be adhered too.
