NHS Scotland Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) Survey Programme
Updated 28th November 2023
In line with Scottish Government directions to review the situation, NHS Dumfries and Galloway was able to discount the presence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) within the properties in its estate.
We will, of course, work with national partners around their work to confirm this.
To that end, NHS Dumfries and Galloway is participating in the national Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) discovery survey programme, hosting survey partners as they visit three properties within the estate. The survey visits took place on 27th November 2023 and the results have been provided.
The current status is as follows:
Mountainhall Treatment Centre, Generator and Labs store – survey completed, no RAAC identified.
Mountainhall Treatment Centre, Main Building – survey completed, no RAAC identified.
Whithorn Clinic – survey completed, no RAAC identified.
Nithbank Hospital, former SAS building – survey completed, no RAAC identified.
The full report of the survey will be delivered no later than 25th December 2023, and this web page will be updated as necessary.
