SANQUHAR
Testing for COVID-19 is available in Upper Nithsdale this weekend.
It follows an increase in cases in the area, resulting in the introduction of additional testing which has been running since last week. Anyone living in Sanquhar, Kelloholm or the immediate surrounding area who is experiencing symptoms of COVID should self-isolate along with their household and arrange to be tested.
We would also encourage anyone experiencing a mild illness such as diarrhoea, runny nose or sore throat to be tested. Testing is also there for those people without any symptoms.
A mobile testing unit (MTU) will be stationed at Sanquhar Academy, Broomfield, Sanquhar DG4 6JN from 11am to 4pm on Saturday (1 May) and Sunday (2 May).
In all cases, booking in advance is preferred but not required. To book a test, visit the website https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or for those without access to the internet by phoning 0800 028 2816.
