ANYONE aged 50 and above who has not yet been booked in for a second COVID-19 vaccination is being encouraged to get in touch.
The new local telephone helpline is already open for anyone aged 40 and above in Dumfries and Galloway who has not received their first vaccination, but anyone over 50 in the region who does not have a date for their second vaccination is also now being invited to call.
They are being invited to ring 01387 403090 between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with local staff waiting today ready to receive calls. Alternatively, email dg.covidenquiries@nhs.scot
Immunisation Co-ordinator Dr Nigel Calvert said: “If you’re over 50 and have still to get a second vaccination scheduled, please get in contact through the helpline as soon as you’re able.
“Originally scheduled second dose vaccinations for everyone aged 50 plus in Dumfries and Galloway are on track to conclude by the end of Sunday.
“However, we’re still taking rescheduled appointments, and encouraging anyone still to secure a date for their second dose vaccination to speak to someone locally to arrange to be vaccinated.
“If you are in that position, please either phone 01387 403090 between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Alternatively, email dg.covidenquiries@nhs.scot
Everyone in lower age groups is asked to await a scheduled invitation, and to take up the opportunity of a vaccine when it is offered.
Today marks the final day that anyone aged 18-29 can register to be one of the first in their age group to be allocated a vaccination, by visiting www.nhsinform.scot/under30register or by calling 0800 030 8013.
