CASES of COVID-19 remain high in Dumfries and Galloway, with 1889 new positives recorded in the week ending Sunday March 27.  This was down slightly from 2029 the week before, but still means that individuals, businesses and services are still being significantly impacted by cases right across the region.  Director of Public Health Valerie White

A SIGNIFICANT increase in COVID cases has been recorded in Dumfries and Galloway over the last two weeks.  In the week ending Sunday March 20 there were 2029 new cases. Meanwhile, numbers adjusted for the previous week upon receipt of additional data reveal that there were 1950 cases – up very markedly from 1261 the week before. 

A SUCCESSFUL conclusion has been reached following work to establish a new provider to deliver GP services out of Sanquhar and Kelloholm.  Following a procurement process, Ayrshire Medical Group are now set to assume responsibility.  The development is being viewed as extremely welcome and positive, with gratitude expressed to everyone who has been a part of this
