NHS Dumfries and Galloway can confirm that they are currently investigating a cluster of COVID-19 cases in the Dumfries area.

The Public Health department are working closely with the locations involved, some of which are healthcare settings, to manage the situation.

Individuals who have been identified as having close contact with a positive COVID-19 case are being contacted by the local Test and Protect Team and given appropriate advice and support.

People attending health care settings should be assured that high standards of infection control, with additional specific measures for COVID-19, are in place.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should self isolate and seek testing. Testing is available at various locations across Dumfries and Galloway. Tests can be booked at https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested/pages/arrange-a-test/

Those eligible for testing in the NHS should follow the well established process via Occupational Health.

Anyone who is concerned about symptoms should get advice through the NHS Inform website at www.nhsinform.scot or by phoning NHS 24 on 111.
