PATIENTS in Annan are set to benefit from improved access to services as the Community Treatment and Care (CTAC) service relocates to a central health campus.
The service, which is currently delivered from Greencroft Medical Practice North, is moving to Annan Health Centre on the Annan Hospital site as part of the continued development of the regionwide Community Hub Model.
Health leaders say the move which takes effect on Monday March 16 2026 will bring services together in a more accessible and integrated setting, allowing care to be delivered more efficiently while maintaining the same high standards for patients.
Stephanie Mottram is General Manager of the Community Directorate, and she said: “Bringing CTAC into Annan Health Centre allows us to strengthen how services work together on one site. It means patients can access care in a setting designed to support joined-up working, while continuing to receive the same high-quality treatment they expect.
“This is about making our community services more resilient and sustainable for the future, while improving the overall experience for people who use them.”
The CTAC service provides a range of treatments in the community, supporting GP practices by delivering services such as wound care, suture removal, blood pressure monitoring and other routine clinical procedures.
From March 16, patients who are booked for a CTAC appointment will now attend Annan Health Centre rather than Greencroft North. Appointment letters and booking information will clearly state the new location to ensure a smooth transition.
While the treatments provided will remain unchanged, patients will benefit from the service being co-located with other healthcare provision, including vaccination services, on the same campus. Health leaders say this will help strengthen collaboration between teams and make it easier for patients who may need to access more than one service. This move also gives us the opportunity to develop and explore the expansion of CTAC services within a hub setting.
The Annan Health Centre site offers ample parking both at the Health Centre and on Stapleton Road, with a bus stop located directly outside the hospital campus, helping to ensure the service remains convenient and accessible.
The relocation forms part of wider work to modernise and enhance community-based services across the region, with the aim of creating stronger local hubs that meet patient needs now and into the future.
Ms Mottram said: “This move allows us to deliver care in a way that better reflects how people use services today. By bringing teams together on one site, we can improve coordination, make best use of our facilities and ensure the Annan community continues to receive high-quality care close to home.
“It’s a positive step in strengthening local services and supporting patients in the years ahead.”
Further information will be shared with patients ahead of the move to support planning and ensure continuity of care.
