Guidance around COVID-19 vaccination communications

THE COVID-19 vaccination programme in Dumfries and Galloway is very well advanced, with all originally scheduled first dose vaccinations completed.

Please be aware that, nationally, there have been reports of people using fraudulent means to obtain information relating to vaccinations.

At this stage in the vaccination programme, you will only be contacted in one of three ways.

1) By a letter providing you with an appointment

2) Via an SMS text message with an appointment, because you selected to be contacted this way.

3) By email with an appointment, because you selected to be contacted this way.

The only variance from this is if an appointment needs to be altered for some reason.

In none of these circumstances will you be asked to provide personal details about yourself, or details about past vaccination appointments.

If you are in any doubt at all when contacted, please either hang up, do not respond to the text or email, and contact the local vaccination team by calling 01387 403090, 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, or alternatively email dg.covidenquiries@nhs.scot

NHS Dumfries and Galloway currently has the highest level of uptake for vaccinations in Scotland, representing a fantastic public response.

However, it is important that everyone stops, thinks, and gives thought to being vaccinated if they haven’t already done so. This can help protect loved ones, protect the community and protect you.

Drop-in clinics provide a quick, free and convenient opportunity, so to find out when these are taking place please visit www.nhsdg.co.uk/vaccines/
