Reminder of hospital visiting arrangements

30 September 2020

Routine inpatient visiting has resumed at Galloway Community Hospital, but please note that restrictions continue to apply.

Areas where people might be treated for COVID-19 are off-limits for visiting, unless in very specified circumstances. As a consequence, no visiting is taking place within Garrick.

In respect of routine inpatient visiting, as before each patient is limited to one named visitor for the duration of their stay in hospital. Arrangements must first be made by speaking to the charge nurse for the respective ward.

Anyone visiting hospital must follow NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s hand hygiene and hand washing advice, to don personal protective equipment as directed, and not to visit if experiencing symptoms of flu, COVID, or if feeling generally unwell.

These measures are in the interests of the safety of patients and staff.
