Testing added over weekend in Upper Nithsdale

ADDITIONAL testing for COVID-19 is being made available in Upper Nithsdale this Saturday and Sunday.

The additional capacity has been introduced in response to an increase in the number of cases within the area.

On Saturday and Sunday, testing for people who from Sanquhar, Kelloholm or the immediate surrounding area will be available outside Sanquhar Academy, from 11 am to 4 pm.

On these two days, testing is available both for people who have symptoms of COVID-19 as well as those who do not have symptoms.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are increased temperatures, a new, continuous cough and change to or loss of sense of taste and/or smell. If you have any of these symptoms you must immediately self-isolate with your household and arrange to be tested.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, testing continues at Mill Hill Centre in Corserig Crescent, Kelloholm, DG4 6EL. This is testing for people who have symptoms of COVID-19, who should be self-isolating. It is also for people with a mild illness such as diarrhoea, runny nose or sore throat, who we would encourage to be tested. It also now provides testing for those people without any symptoms.

In all cases, booking in advance is preferred but not required.
