Tributes paid to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

TRIBUTES are paid to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by NHS Dumfries and Galloway.

The Queen’s long reign spans almost the entire existence of the National Health Service, during which strong local connections were established.

In July 1975, Her Majesty officially opened Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, named with royal approval.

That connection continued in July 2018 when Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, opened the new district general hospital which was again granted approval to be named the region’s Royal Infirmary.

Deepest sympathies are conveyed to the Royal Family, with thoughts to all those affected by Her Majesty’s passing.
