Meet our award winning nurses
Jenny Manson our Community Children’s Nurse has been named Scottish Nurse of the year at the Scottish Health Awards for her outstanding efforts.
Jenny has been involved in delivering end of life care to children in our community with declining health. Jenny has demonstrated time and time again that she always puts her patients and their families first.
Jenny said: “I am delighted to receive this distinguished award and to be recognised for the job I love. It shines light on the care we provide in our communities and delivering end of life care.”
Jenna Gibson has been named Neonatal Nurse of the year. The award was given at the annual conference run by the Scottish Neonatal Nurses Group.
Jenna said: “It was just complete and utter shock and really emotional. I still can’t believe it.”
Jenna, has just completed a Masters in Advance Practice, is now set to collaborate with University of West of Scotland to highlight her achievement and illustrate how she has progressed her career through her studies, helping to inspire and encourage others.

Job Vacancies Of The Month

CAMHS Consultant
The postholder will provide clinical leadership and psychiatric input to multi-disciplinary teams of specialist healthcare professionals within D&G CAMHS. This role provides the opportunity to make a big impact on service design. This includes development of a new assessment and diagnostic service for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Gastroenterologist Consultant
We are looking for a Consultant in Gastroenterology to join the team at NHS Dumfries & Galloway. Gastroenterology services in D&G currently include out-patient clinics and in-patient treatment for various Gastroenterology disorders, and a wide range of Endoscopy procedures. The successful candidate will be expected to take on oesophageal manometry studies.

Primary Care Mental Health Nurse
We have two vacancies in the Primary Care Mental Health team for Community Mental Health Nurses. We are looking for individuals who will be aligned to the locality Community Mental Health Team, but will be based within GP practices supporting Primary Care in the provision of early assessment and interventions for people with mild-moderate mental health issues.
If you are enthusiastic and flexible in your approach to nursing, would like to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting the community – this could be the perfect job for you.

Urology Consultant
We currently have a vacancy to join our Urology team! Our Urology team is small which will allow you opportunity to make impact on changes within the service. You will work alongside our amazing team of specialist nurses and have great support and links with other colleagues e.g Radiology, Cancer Services and from NHS Ayrshire and Arran Urology department who provide support for Out of Hours emergency cases.
