Out of Hours Service
The Out of Hours service for Dumfries and Galloway is based across two sites. Our Stranraer site is situated next to the A&E department of the Galloway Community Hospital that offers acute and emergency medicine.
Many of our GPs like a more portfolio career working within the hospital or day time practice. Some of the key benefits of the Out of Hours service being ran by the NHS Health Board is the wealth of support we can tap into from clinical skills training, use of a state of the art skills lab in the purpose built Education Centre at the Dumfries site, Leadership courses and the opportunity to work under one employer with NHS indemnity.
We have an excellent support team in Out of Hours that help manage the workload and support our team of clinicians ensuring they can crack on and do the job they love.
