Staff Functional Fitness MOT

Supporting Staff Wellbeing Through Physical Activity

The Staff Functional Fitness MOT focuses on improving the physical activity levels of staff, particularly those who are predominantly sedentary at work and not meeting the Chief Medical Officer’s physical activity guidelines.

Programme Overview

Staff are invited to participate in a Fitness MOT, led by a qualified exercise instructor. The MOT session takes approximately 30 minutes and includes:

  • A behaviour change conversation to discuss your goals.

  • Development of a personalised action plan to improve fitness, strength, balance, and flexibility.

  • Practical options, both formal and informal, to gradually build and embed changes towards a more active life.

Participants undertake the activities outlined in their action plan in their own time.

Ongoing Support

To provide ongoing support, staff can attend weekly check-in sessions. These sessions offer guidance, reassurance, and advice to ensure progress against the action plan and support behavioural change. Attendance is optional and can be booked as needed.
